Verkada’s new AI-powered search feature allows customers to use free-form text to search for people and vehicles in a highly-detailed manner using specific attributes like clothing or vehicle type or color. Now, with AI-powered search, customers are no longer restricted to a predefined list of attributes; rather, users can enter their query directly on the search bar. This capability is important for security professional as it enables them to search through their footage quickly with a much more expansive set of descriptors than before. It also addresses operational issues in manufacturing industries looking to support workplace safety (e.g., “person driving a forklift”).

With AI-powered alerts, customers can also use everyday language in a free-form search bar to set up alerts on virtually any event of interest. An alert can now be created for anytime the subject of a query is detected on a camera going forward. An alert can be created to detect a truck arriving with a shipment. To ensure safety in the workplace, it is now possible to create an alert every time a camera detects a person not wearing a safety vest.
